Happy friendship day!

I wonder what would have happened in life without you…
What good have I done to have found you.

I sometimes wonder, if life would have been the same if you were not there.

You are the one who taught me to be selfless, free, expressive and all those things I wanted to be…

You are my friend, my guiding spirit

No wonder I search you in all my existing relationships

You are a sibling God forgot to give!

Happy friendship day!

Hey Steve… we have a problem!

I mean there is a real problem.

I bought your crazy phone last November and I guess things were never the same after that.

Who could have thought that one would perfect the touch technology so well. I have seen the Samsungs and the Nokias and the other gadgets of yore but this one seems way too ahead of its times.

But how come your product comes with so much complains?

I mean I can imagine the users and critics going blah, blah, blah over the features, compatibility and the connectivity related problems…

But my problem is real… genuine… d’yu know what I mean?

  • When I am back home, my son first scans my pocket to have a grab at my phone
  • Next, until he gets tired toying with my phone, no one exists in the house
  • I get only a secondary hug after that iPHONE goes to a complete power off situation!
  • Every night my kid takes something special in his hand before falling fast asleep… and for the past few months it’s my iPHONE that gets the most nighty hugs from him (And that really makes me jealous!)
  • I am constantly hooked on to FB, Mails, Linked IN, Twitter et all… to the extent that I keep it all the while with me
  • Even while watching my fave TV program or a movie, some corner of my eye keeps setting it’s sight on this gadget!
  • My wife thinks I spend more time with my iPHONE than I do with my family
  • My son thinks he’s never too old to own it now than to buy it later
  • I cannot switch to a Nokia or any other such gadgets that easily as I switched to this one!
  • My wife is really worried for the day when I’ll lay my hands on an iPAD
  • It only gets worse when I return back home after a long day in the office, since both me and my son have a constant debate over who needs it the most!
  • With every gadget that gets introduced by you, we all somehow spend too much money on accessorizing them. Covers, added units et all…

I think with each and every addition in your product line-up the situation gets only worse.

Hey Steve, you fix so many bugs in your product line-ups based on the critics/ consumer feedbacks… Is there anyway you can resolve this situation ;-) ?

Office Memo

Office Memo

To: All Employees

Dear Staff,
It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada sneakers and carrying a Gucci bag we assume that you are doing well financially and therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes and therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress in-between, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.

Personal Days:
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturday and Sunday.

Lunch Breaks:
Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch as they need to eat more so that they can look healthy. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average size. Fat people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that’s all the time needed to drink a Slim Fast and take a diet pill.

Sick Days:
We will no longer accept a doctor statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

Restroom Use:
Entirely too much time is being spent in the restroom. There is now a strict 3 minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of 3 minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open and a picture will be taken. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the “Chronic Offender” category.

Surgery:
As long as you are employed here, you need all your organs. You should not consider removing anything. We hired you intact. To have something removed will constitute a breach of employment.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplation, and input should be directed elsewhere.

Have a nice week.

Passion points

No matter how much we work, earn and grow old, there is some child within all of us.

How many times have we encountered it ourselves?

To the outside world we are this serious and responsible lot who project a very professional side!

Don’t we have any desires? Passion points?

I guess each one of us have such passion point. Some generously flaunt it while some hide it under their skin.

What is a passion point?

Anything that sets your heart racing. Anything that keeps your life going… It could be a hobby, it could be something which you don’t do it normally. I mean, you actually take time to do it during your sweet times… or let’s say that you create those sweet times to actually spend sometime with it.

Stamps, coins collecting are passion points. We used to do that as kids. I had a friend who used to collect bus/ train/ movie tickets, matchboxes. Collecting miniature cars/ planes etc is another passion. But that needs a huge space and this is considered a passion of the rich and famous. Reading is one of the most common passion point for many people. So is listening to music and watching movies and I seriously belong to this category. Well not just that… Anything associated with music or movies. Like the trivia, the people behind the scenes etc. Sports for many is a great passion point. I mean look at Cricket… I have friends who remember every single players score statistics which is really common amongst cricket fans.

A colleague of mine is obsessed with Toys. He hails from Manila, Philippines and a visit to his house actually prompted me to write this post. His house and primarily all rooms in his house are stocked with toys. You name it cars, gadgets, super heroes, planes, bikes everything is there neatly packed in every nook and corner!

And his son has each and every collectible of the Spiderman franchise. T-shirts, caps, badges, masks, tea coasters and the list goes on!

God I promised myself that I’d never take my 6 year old son to his house ever!

He’ll go crazy looking at the awesome collection.

Passions as long as it does not cause that great deal in terms of money is fine. But when money is involved big time then it is a cause of concern.
But my question is why do we have these kind of passions? Is it really important? I mean are we really going to do something with it?
Ok fine. Once we have established our likeness to a certain thing, we start delving further into it. Start collecting it. Then it takes space. Then it takes more space both physically and mentally. Then what?

I remember vividly, when I started working first in the middleast, I used to buy one CD everyday! I mean every single day! Imagine the space in my wardrobe used to overflow with CDs.
You name the band and I had all their albums. Then I just found reasons and ways to distribute them amongst friends and colleagues. Of course only after ripping them onto drives.

But during this process, one thing I noticed is that, it was my way of relieving out my stress. The work pressure was killing. My way of burning out the stress was to buy CDs.
That’s weird if I think of it now.
But probably I couldn’t think of any other way. It proved to be very expensive affair.

These passions all said and done play an important role in our lives. They evolve our thinking.
They let us broaden our knowledge and scope of things. They introduce us to a world we never knew. They provide us an escape that we need so badly.

Like they said ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’

What’s your passion point?

The dinner date…

I read this piece a long time ago when I received it on my mail. I was not a blogger then. And today I am happy to have this secured in my site so that this becomes a part of ME.

I must have read this an awful lot of times and each time I read it… It only brings peace in my heart and tears in my eyes.

My mom was the best in the world and so are all those mothers… I wish if I could only turn back time and bring her back and take very good care of her, chill out with her… I wish….

I want to share this piece of golden words with you… Please read along… truly amazing

After 21 years of Marriage, my Wife wanted me to take another Woman out to Dinner and a Movie.

She said I Love You but I know this other Woman loves you and would Love to spend some Time with You.

The other Woman that my Wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a Widow for 19 years, but the demands of my Work and my three Children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to Invite her to go out for Dinner and a Movie.

‘What’s wrong, are you well,’ she asked?

My Mother is the type of Woman who suspects that a Late Night Call or a Surprise Invitation is a sign of Bad News.

‘I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you,’ I responded.

‘Just the two of us.’

She thought about it for a moment, and then said, ‘I would like that very much.’

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit Nervous.
When I arrived at her House, I noticed that she too seemed to be Nervous about our Date.

She waited in the Door with her Coat on.
She had Curled her Hair and was wearing the Dress that she had worn to Celebrate her last Wedding Anniversary.

She smiled from a face that was as Radiant as an Angel’s.

‘I told my Friends that I was going to go out with My Son, and they were impressed’, She said, as she got into the Car.

‘They can’t wait to hear about our meeting’.

We went to a Restaurant that, although not Elegant, was very Nice and Cozy.

My Mother took my Arm as if She were the First Lady.

After we sat down, I had to read the Menu. Large Print.

Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me.

A Nostalgic Smile was on her Lips.

‘It was I who used to have to Read the Menu when you were Small,’ she said.

‘Then it’s Time that you Relax and let me Return the Favor,’

I responded.

During the Dinner, we had an Agreeable Conversation, nothing Extra-ordinary, but catching up on recent Events of each others Life.

We talked so much that we missed the Movie.

As we arrived at her House later, she said, ‘I’ll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.’

I agreed.

‘How was your Dinner Date?’ asked My Wife when I got Home. ‘Very Nice. Much more so than I could have Imagined,’ I answered.

A few days later, my Mother died of a Massive Heart Attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn’t have Time to do anything for her.

Some time later, I received an Envelope with a Copy of a Restaurant receipt from the same place Mother and I had dined.

An Attached Note Said:

‘I paid this Bill in Advance.

I wasn’t sure that I could be there; But nevertheless, I paid for Two Plates “One for You and the Other for Your Wife.”

“You will never know what that Night meant for Me.”

I Love You, My Son.

If you are a Mom or planning to be one… and/ or if you have a Mother…

Happy Mother’s day…

Hope you both are keeping good health… Lots of love and hugs from me to you and to your mom!
