My son is a big fan of POGO.
Hop in to my house and you will find this channel in your face. There will be chota bheem, new adventures of Hanuman, Krishna, Ramayan, the very well conceived FAQs and M.A.D. all waiting to enthrall you with with their uniqueness and talent.
While the cartoons bring so much fun, programs like FAQ and MAD bring in lots of creativity and new perspectives to the way a child sees things. It’s truly a visual treat watching both the programs. FAQ has Science as the basis of explaining things to kids and MAD has Art forms while expressing the thoughts/ ideas.
The anchor and the creative genius “Rob” who is a graduate from National Institute of Design makes such amazing things from the most mundane and common things in the household which actually takes the program to a different level.
I think all kids who are hooked onto POGO would probably know it and would be die-hard-fans of Rob! And their parents too! I am sure to be one of them.
MAD features Music, ART and Dance all rolled into each and every episode.
Within MAD there is one such segment called “The big picture” which is the highlight of this program. The idea is to create a huge artwork in the form of a picture, set, design using lots of pictures. The camera then zooms out from the screen to a distant angle revealing the big picture! Rob creates collages, houses, giant robots, animals, insects in a very large format.
I love the way my son jumps and screams when Rob appears on screen giving tips on how to do things and in a much friendly manner!
I had to make my son happier, I thought… So came the idea.
Actually, I have to admit that it was a sheer stroke of luck that it just fell into place.
I was generally brainstorming with my colleagues what poster to be created for my son’s birthday and our copy writer suggested that we combine all his pictures to a single image.
One day before my son’s birthday I made a huge poster of his collage and took it home to surprise him saying that I have a Big picture done for him… The smile that was dancing on his lips was way beyond my comprehension and was sure worth more than a billion bucks!
I sincerely thank my Art Director, Copy writer for coming up with such a novel idea and bringing so much life to it!
This amazing poster adorns our living room standing tall facing our kitchen entrance.
Every time my wife comes out of the kitchen (A place where almost all housewives spend more than 50% of their times…) she receives a warm smile from my son… or should I say more than 1900 images of my son smiling at her!!!!
